Pakistan court rejects former PM Khan's request to withdraw appeal and shift case to separate court

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 6 December 2023
The Islamabad court rejected Imran Khan's request to withdraw his appeal, preventing him from moving it to the Lahore High Court. This is a setback in his efforts to overturn the decision that would disqualify him from running in next year's elections. Khan had appealed against the Election Commission of Pakistan's finding that he unlawfully sold state gifts. The court has not yet decided on whether the ECP's decision should be overturned. Khan remains embroiled in court cases since his ousting as prime minister.
