Lebanon rescues over 50 people, mostly Syrians, from sinking migrant boat off Tripoli coast. Boat was used for illegal people smuggling. Migrants leaving Lebanon often seek a better life in Europe, heading towards Cyprus. Lebanon hosts 2 million Syrians, with 800,000 registered as refugees with the UN. Lebanon's economy collapse turned it into a launchpad for migrants. Lebanese nationals also attempt the treacherous voyage to Europe. Recent conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and skirmishes across Lebanon-Israel border.
