India Ranked 80th in Henley Passport Index, faces challenges for international travel
Friday, 12 January 2024 India has achieved the 80th position in the recent Henley Passport Index, granting its citizens visa-free access to 62 countries, including popular destinations like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. This marks a slight improvement from the previous year when India was ranked 84th. Among its neighbors, the Maldives leads at 58, followed by China at 62, Bhutan at 87, Myanmar at 92, Sri Lanka at 96, Bangladesh at 97, and Nepal at 98, with Pakistan trailing at 101. Globally, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and Singapore have the most powerful passports.
