Imran Khan's party loses battle for 'cricket bat'

In a major blow to Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), the Pakistan Supreme Court on Saturday denied the party its iconic electoral symbol of cricket bat by nullifying the recent order of the Peshawar high court that restored the symbol. On Thursday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) approached the country's top court against the Peshawar HC verdict, contending that the PTI had held its intra-party polls "secretly" but were not in accordance with the party's constitution.
