US targets Houthi anti-ship missiles in new strike; Greek vessel hit in Red Sea

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 17 January 2024
The US military conducted a fresh strike in Yemen on Tuesday, targeting four Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles, according to officials. This action is in response to the Iran-backed group's continuous attacks on Red Sea shipping. An official informed Reuters that the missiles were taken down as they were being prepared to target ships in the area. No further details, including the exact location, have been released yet. Meanwhile, the Houthis claimed responsibility for a missile attack on the Greek-owned, Malta-flagged bulk carrier Zografia in the Red Sea. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
