Alabama faces int criticism over nitrogen gas execution

The White House is deeply troubled by the first-ever execution in the United States using nitrogen gas, carried out in Alabama on Kenneth Smith. The United Nations, European Union, and civil liberties groups expressed concern over the execution. Alabama's Attorney General Steve Marshall defended the execution and stated that there are more people, around 43 imprisoned, will receive nitrogen gas executions.
