Zelenskyy asked Ukraine’s top general to quit and he refused

Ukraine's commander-in-chief, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, refused to step down and take on a new role as President Zelenskyy sought to reinvigorate military leadership after the failed counteroffensive against Russian occupying forces. Tensions between Zelenskyy and Zaluzhnyi have existed since the start of the war, with disagreements over approaches to the conflict and the unpopular law on conscription.
