Pakistan's inaugural parliament session overshadowed by protests and allegations of rigging

The inaugural session of the lower house of parliament in Pakistan was disrupted by protests from supporters of imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have joined forces to form a coalition government. Shehbaz Sharif and Omar Ayub were among the lawmakers who signed the membership register of the National Assembly.
