Arshad Warsi recalls Jaya Bachchan scolding him

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 7 August 2024
Arshad Warsi opened up about his early career struggles in Bollywood and his run-ins with veteran star Jaya Bachchan. The actor, known for his role in the 1996 film 'Tere Mere Sapne', revealed that his blunt honesty was not always welcomed in the industry. In a recent interview with Samdish Bhatia on his YouTube channel, Warsi shared a funny anecdote about being reprimanded by Jaya for his casual airport attire, recalling, “I was new and didn’t know much. During Tere Mere Sapne, I flew to Hyderabad in chaddi and baniyan, which led to a message asking me to dress appropriately.” Warsi also recounted a time when his unfiltered opinion about a film displeased Jaya, who advised him to keep his thoughts to himself. He commented on Bollywood’s ‘yes man’ culture, emphasizing that honesty is often not appreciated. On the work front, Arshad recently appeared in Bachchhan Paandey and has Welcome to the Jungle and 'Jolly LLB 3' lined up.
