The Met Office has warned there is a "small chance" of injuries and "danger to life" as a result of strong winds and large waves hitting the south of England.

The Met Office has upgraded its yellow weather warning to an amber 'be prepared' rainfall warning as showers are forecast to be heavier that expected. Areas affected by the amber warning include Milton Keynes, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Leicestershire, parts of south-west England and the West Midlands, which could see 30-40 mm of rainfall within three hours.
