Bibby Stockholm barge to be closed amid Labour asylum overhaul
Tuesday, 23 July 2024 The Bibby Stockholm barge will stop housing asylum seekers from the end of January 2025 as part of the government's overhaul of the asylum system.
Shadow Education Secretary Damian Hinds describes the government’s decision to close the Bibby Stockholm barge as an “error”. “We believe very strongly you need a deterrent”, he said.
