The message from Southport residents is clear - mourning should be the town's key focus
Friday, 2 August 2024 As carpets are unfurled outside the Southport mosque ahead of Friday prayers, the chairman there has this message for violent protesters: "You have hijacked the grief."
The mother of seven-year-old Elsie Stancombe, who was one of three girls killed at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport, have said she would “trade places” with her daughter "any day" as she paid tribute to her. Elsie's mother, Jenni Stancombe, said, "If we had been there this wouldn't have happened".
