9.6 lakh vacancies till March, says govt, but mum on hirings

The Centre has told Lok Sabha on Wednesday that there were 9,64,359 vacancies for jobs in the government, till March 2022, but failed to furnish numbers on how many recruitments have been made so far, in those vacant posts. Replying to questions on the number of vacancies in last 10 years and what the government has done to fill those, MoS for the PMO, Jitendra Singh said regular recruitments have been happening on a “mission mode”, especially through rozgar melas in different parts of India.
