CRPF jawan dies of gunshot wounds in Pulwama, suicide suspected
Saturday, 12 August 2023 A CRPF jawan died of bullet injuries in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district early Saturday, Srinagar Police said. “The apparent cause of death is suicide. Everything would be revealed after the investigation,” a police spokesperson said. Around 1.55am, gunshots were heard near Sail Chersoo area, the spokesperson said, adding: “After assessing crucial evidence, a jawan of CRPF’s 112Bn, Constable/Sepoy Ajay Kumar, was found lying dead in a pool of blood.”

In the aftermath of the Reasi terror attack, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the injured pilgrims, providing them with comfort and support. The attack, which occurred on Sunday, involved terrorists opening fire on a bus carrying pilgrims, resulting in the bus veering off the road and falling into a deep gorge. Tragically, nine lives were lost and 37 others were injured in the incident. Sinha revealed that the bus driver was specifically targeted by the terrorists.
