Friday, 22 September 2023 Both houses of Parliament in India were adjourned after the historic passage of the women's reservation bill, which provides 33% reservation for women in Parliament and other law-making bodies. The bill was passed unanimously in the Rajya Sabha, with 214 members voting in support and none against. Prime Minister Modi urged members to pass the bill unanimously, stating that it would empower women and enhance 'Nari Shakti'.
