600 MBBS students to lose seats in NMC crackdown

IndiaTimes Friday, 20 October 2023
Over 600 students in India have had their admissions to medical colleges invalidated by the National Medical Commission for violating guidelines. This, combined with mismanagement of the counselling process, means that over 2,000 MBBS seats across the country will be left vacant. The Supreme Court had set a deadline of September 30 for admissions, but more than 1,500 seats remained vacant. The NMC has now invalidated the admissions of 600 more students who were admitted by colleges in violation of rules.
