Citing Mahua case procedure, BSP MP claims he has been wronged
Saturday, 21 October 2023 BSP MP Danish Ali has written to Speaker Om Birla, expressing his concerns about alleged violation of parliamentary procedures by a key House committee. Ali stated that the Lok Sabha privileges committee has wrongly called the accused BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, while the ethics committee has rightfully invited the complainant in the case involving Trinamool Congress member Mahua Moitra. Ali requested Birla to direct officials to call him before the privileges committee to give evidence against Bidhuri.
The second phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh on April 26 holds high stakes for several prominent faces, including actress Hema Malini, actor Arun Govil, and former BSP leader Danish Ali. In the eight constituencies going to polls – Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Mathura – unemployment has emerged as a major concern, with youth expressing anger over recruitment exam paper leaks and lack of job opportunities. The BJP had won seven of these seats in 2019, with Amroha being the lone exception, where Danish Ali had emerged victorious on a joint BSP-SP-RLD ticket. Oneindia brings you special reports.
