Bengal governor seeks action-taken report from CM Mamata on flogging video case

West Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose on Monday urged CM Mamata Banerjee to submit a report on the public flogging incident in the Uttar Dinajpur district. A video showing the public flogging of a couple in Uttar Dinajpur's Chopra went viral last week, causing nationwide outrage. The man seen in the video beating the couple with a bamboo stick was identified as Tajmul alias 'JCB,' who is purportedly a TMC leader from the Chopra area. He was subsequently arrested and sent to police custody.
