The European Union (EU) plans to appoint a military attache in India to strengthen security and defense ties and support its Indo-Pacific strategy. The move is part of the EU's efforts to play a more significant geopolitical role in the region. The EU's new ambassador to India, Herve Delphin, stated that the appointment demonstrates deepening cooperation in defense and security. India, which has criticized Europe for its silence on challenges to the rules-based order in Asia, welcomes the EU's expanded presence and increased security cooperation.
