BJP made clear it will raise funds in 'conspiratorial' manner, says P Chidambaram ahead of Electoral Bond hearing

IndiaTimes Monday, 30 October 2023
Congress leader P Chidambaram has accused the BJP of raising funds from big corporates in an "opaque, secretive and conspiratorial manner" through the electoral bond scheme. The BJP responded by saying that the scheme promotes transparency and democratic political funding. The Supreme Court is set to begin hearing a batch of pleas challenging the validity of the electoral bond scheme on October 31. The scheme was introduced as an alternative to cash donations to political parties and allows any citizen or entity in India to purchase electoral bonds.
