Election Commission tells Delhi HC it can't regulate political alliance over plea to restrain parties from using acronym INDIA

IndiaTimes Monday, 30 October 2023
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has stated that it cannot regulate political alliances in response to a plea against the use of the acronym INDIA for the opposition alliance. The ECI clarified that its authority is to be exercised in accordance with the law passed by the parliament, and political alliances are not recognized as regulated entities. The plea alleged that using the acronym INDIA with malicious intent could diminish the goodwill of the nation and lead to confusion and political violence.

Elon Musk advised against using electronic voting machines (EVMs) due to hacking risks, sparking debates on their security amid irregularities in Puerto Rico's primaries. However, India defended its third-generation M3 EVMs as tamper-proof, with no connectivity and oversight from IIT experts and the Election Commission. The Supreme Court issued directives to further strengthen EVM security while rejecting demands for 100% VVPAT verification. #ElonMusk #EVMs #EVMHacking #BallotPaper #ElonMuskNews #PuertoRico #IndianElections2024 #Indianews #RajeevChandraShekhar #Worldnews #Oneindia #Oneindianews ~HT.178~ED.155~GR.125~
