Tuesday, 31 October 2023 Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has requested Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to extend the Vande Bharat Express train route to Belagavi city in order to improve connectivity between Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra. Siddaramaiah emphasized that Belagavi is an economically vibrant district with significant industrial and tourism potential. He urged the railway minister to consider the request as it would greatly enhance connectivity between the states and contribute to the holistic development of the region.
