UP to take back land leased to former UP minister Azam Khan's trust
Wednesday, 1 November 2023 The Uttar Pradesh state cabinet revoked a land lease given to Azam Khan's Jauhar Trust due to alleged violations of the agreement. Previously, a 3.24-acre land allocated to the Jauhar Research Centre had been seized. The decision also involved reclaiming the building and land of the Murtaza Higher Secondary School leased to the Maulana Mohammad Jauhar Trust in Rampur. The government took this action based on a report from a four-member inquiry committee, transferring ownership of the 41,181 sqft land back to the Secondary Education Department.

In a devastating road accident today, at least 18 people lost their lives and many others were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Among the deceased were three women and one child, police reported. The double-decker bus, which was en route from Biharβs Sitamarhi to Delhi, crashed into a milk tanker from behind on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway early this morning. The force of the collision was immense, causing several passengers to be flung out of the bus, police stated.
