After Delhi, Bengaluru has 2nd highest road deaths

Delhi's roads were responsible for nearly 1,500 deaths in 2022, a rise of 18% from the previous year. Bengaluru came in second place with half the number of fatalities. Chennai, on the other hand, saw a commendable 49% decrease in fatalities. Mumbai experienced a 15% decrease in accidents, but deaths only decreased by 4%. The worst cities for road fatalities included Kanpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Indore, Jaipur, and Raipur. Two-wheelers were the most common vehicle type involved in accidents, with over-speeding being the main cause. Bengaluru had the highest number of deaths due to over-speeding.
