Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange on Wednesday turned down Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde's appeal to give the state government more time to fulfil his demand, saying the agitation had reached "a do-or-die situation" and that he couldn't "step back at any cost" from his indefinite hunger strike. The quota activist made the announcement after CM Shinde said that an all-party meeting earlier in the day decided that reservation should be given to the Maratha community without tampering with the existing quotas for other communities in the state.
