The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) has announced that it will be contesting the Telangana assembly polls alone. The CPM has released its first list of 17 candidates for various constituencies. The party had given the Congress a deadline to conclude the talks, but with no response, they called off the alliance and announced their own candidates. The CPM's aim is to defeat the BJP, and if the CPI also doesn't ally with the Congress, there may be changes in the candidate list.
