The Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), a young regional party in Mizoram, aims to challenge the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) in the upcoming assembly polls. The ZPM emerged as the main opposition party in 2018, winning eight seats and relegating the Congress to third place. The party's chief ministerial candidate, Lalduhoma, has stated that the ZPM will maintain its independent regional identity and will not align with either the BJP-led NDA or the opposition INDIA bloc.
