"Earthquake does not kill people it is the structure that does": NCS Director on Nepal earthquake

He emphasized that it is not the earthquake itself that kills people, but the kind of structures present in the region. The earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.4, caused significant damage and loss of life in Nepal and was felt in several districts of North India.

Over 50 people reportedly died due to heatstroke in different parts of the country since Thursday. These deaths were reported as the temperature soared past 50 degrees Celsius in parts of North India, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar this week. On Thursday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 45.6 degrees Celsius, 5.2 notches above normal.
