Monday, 13 November 2023
The excise department of Delhi government has set a new record by selling liquor worth over Rs 526 crore in the two weeks leading up to Diwali this year. This is a 44% increase compared to the same period last year, with nearly 3 crore bottles sold. The sale of liquor before Diwali starts picking up after Dussehra and peaks a few days before the festival. The increase in sales can be attributed to the increase in the number of liquor stores in Delhi and people's trust in the quality available there.
