TMC neta shot dead outside home, 1 of 2 killers lynched
Trinamool block president was fatally shot outside his residence in Bamangachhi, resulting in the lynching of one of the suspected assailants and subsequent arson in the nearby Daluakhaki village of the South 24 Parganas district in Bengal. The attackers targeted Saifuddin Laskar, the 43-year-old president of Trinamool's Bamangachhi block, as he left his home to attend morning prayers at a nearby mosque. Laskar, whose wife Sarifa Bibi holds the position of gram panchayat pradhan, was quickly taken to the Padmerhat rural hospital. Unfortunately, he was declared dead upon arrival.
