Tuesday, 14 November 2023 A police officer in Uttar Pradesh, India, was shot and killed outside his home in Prayagraj. The officer, Satish Kumar, was shot by an unidentified assailant as he was returning home with his wife and daughter after a Diwali visit. Satish was an inspector-rank officer in the Provincial Armed Constabulary. His wife expressed shock and trauma at the incident. The police are investigating the case and have formed five probe teams to explore all possible angles.

In a devastating road accident today, at least 18 people lost their lives and many others were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided with another vehicle in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Among the deceased were three women and one child, police reported. The double-decker bus, which was en route from Biharβs Sitamarhi to Delhi, crashed into a milk tanker from behind on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway early this morning. The force of the collision was immense, causing several passengers to be flung out of the bus, police stated.
