Diaspora panel in US seeks to include extremist Pannun and SFJ on no-fly list

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 21 November 2023
A diaspora panel in the US has called for designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and his banned organization Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) to be added to the no-fly list. The panel, organized by the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies, accused Pannun of issuing video threats against Air India passengers. The SFJ, which is based in the US and banned by the Indian government, has been involved in anti-India activities. The panel also criticized Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for allegedly misrepresenting freedom of expression and ignoring the threat of extremism.

Dubai Floods: Air India, IndiGo Dubai flights face cancellation amid adverse weather | Oneindia

The United Arab Emirates witnessed an unprecedented deluge, marking its most substantial rainfall on record since 1949. Described as a "historic weather event" by the state-run WAM news agency, the widespread downpour across the UAE is attributed to a combination of factors, including cloud seeding initiatives. Significant disruptions have been reported in flights from India to Dubai due to heavy rains causing flooding at the emirate's airport, one of the world's busiest. Air India, operating 72 weekly flights from multiple Indian cities to Dubai, alongside IndiGo, have cancelled their services on Wednesday. Other carriers, including Air India Express, Vistara, and SpiceJet, which also serve various Indian cities to Dubai routes, have been affected as well. Dubai, hosting a substantial Indian diaspora, sees these flight cancellations impacting travel plans and connections for many. #DubaiRains #DubaiFlightsCancelled #AirIndia #IndiGo #FlightsCancelledDubai #dubaiflood #dubaifloodnewstoday2024 #dubaifloodinglive #dubaifloodslatestnewstoday #dubaifloodnewstoday #dubaiflood2024 #dubaifloodnews #dubaiflood2024live #dubaifloodvideo #Oneindia #Oneindia news ~PR.152~ED.101~GR.121~HT.96~
