DGCA to recertify maintenance organisation, continuous airworthiness management of Red Bird Flight school

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is recertifying the maintenance organization of Red Bird Flight Training Academy after an audit revealed deficiencies in aircraft maintenance. The DGCA had suspended the flying training activities of Red Bird after it had two accidents within a week, making it a total of five accidents in six months. The audit found deficiencies in personnel training, maintenance schedules, and records, among other areas. The DGCA has initiated enforcement action and is undertaking the recertification process for the maintenance organization.
