Row over Haryana mantri's 'elope' remark on farm stir

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 28 November 2023
Haryana's agriculture minister JP Dalal has stoked a controversy as he termed the farmers who took part in the agitation against the now-repealed central farm laws as useless and shady persons whose "wives and daughters had eloped". Addressing farmers at Gignow town in Bhiwani district on Sunday, Dalal sarcastically remarked that the protesters who participated in the dharna were so useless that even their wives would not listen to them, and yet, they were taking responsibility for the entire farming community.

Haryana Shuts Down Internet in Nuh Ahead of Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra After Last Year's Violence

The Haryana government has ordered a 24-hour suspension of mobile internet and bulk SMS services in Nuh district ahead of the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra. This decision, effective from 6 PM Sunday to 6 PM Monday, aims to prevent the spread of misinformation and ensure public safety following the violent clashes during last year's procession. Last year, violence erupted during the Vishva Hindu Parishad procession, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries, including the tragic killing of a mosque's naib imam in Gurugram. This year, unprecedented security measures are in place, including police, paramilitary forces, and drone surveillance, to ensure a peaceful yatra. #NuhYatra #InternetShutdown #BrajMandalJalabhishek #HaryanaNews #YatraViolence #PublicSafety #BreakingNews #LatestUpdates #ProcessionSecurity #SocialMediaBan ~PR.274~ED.103~GR.124~HT.96~
