The Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), founded by Lalduhoma, a former IPS officer, MLA, and ex-Member of Parliament, is undergoing a political transformation in Mizoram. Formed in 2018 as a coalition of six regional parties, the ZPM aims to address various issues in Mizoram. In the 2018 Mizoram Assembly elections, the ZPM positioned itself as an alternative to the Mizoram National Front (MNF) and the Indian National Congress (INC) and secured victory in 8 out of 40 seats. In the 2023 elections, the ZPM contested all 40 seats and is anticipated to win 28-35 seats.
