Highest number of BSF personnel followed by CRPF opting for voluntary retirement: Government
At least 4127 Border Security Force personnel and 2572 Central Reserve Police Force personnel have opted for voluntary retirement in 2023. The reasons for voluntary retirement include personal and domestic reasons, health issues, and better career opportunities. The government has implemented measures to reduce the number of personnel seeking retirement, such as conducting cadre reviews, providing career progression benefits, and posting near the hometown during the last two years of service.
