Wednesday, 6 December 2023 A total of 46,960 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel have taken voluntary retirement since 2019, according to the home ministry. The highest number of retirements came from the Border Security Force (BSF) with 21,860 personnel opting to leave. The Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) followed with 12,893 retirements. Junior home minister Nityanand Rai provided these figures in response to a question in the Rajya Sabha. The ministry has implemented various measures to address the issue of attrition, including conducting timely cadre reviews and offering benefits such as career advancement and financial aid to personnel.
