Vishnu Deo Sai stakes claim to form government in Chhattisgarh

Vishnu Deo Sai, the chief minister designate of Chhattisgarh, called on Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan to stake his claim to form the government. Accompanied by his party colleagues, Sai presented a letter to the Governor. The BJP, with 54 members in the 90-member Assembly, has a majority. The date of the swearing-in ceremony is yet to be decided, but it is expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party President J P Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah could attend. The composition of the Cabinet and the possibility of having a deputy chief minister will be decided by the party leadership.
