Landmark judgment: Supreme Court upholds abrogation of Article 370, says it was temporary provision

The Supreme Court on Monday upheld government's order on abrogation of Article 370. The court delivered a unanimous verdict on petitions challenging the validity of the Centre's 2019 decisions to scrap special status for Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370, and its bifurcation into two Union Territories. ​​Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, while reading out the apex court's judgement, said the President's order on Article 370 was valid, and mentioned that it was a temporary provision.
