BJP surprises by selecting Mohan Yadav, son of tea-seller, as Madhya Pradesh CM, signaling focus on new leaders and OBCs. This move ends Shivraj Singh Chouhan's 20-year reign in state politics. Jagdish Devda, a Dalit, and Rajendra Shukla, a Brahmin from Vindhya region, become deputy CMs. Narendra Tomar, former Union agriculture minister, will be the assembly speaker. Yadav's selection aims to strengthen BJP's support among OBCs in UP, Bihar, and Haryana. Yadav, known for his influence in Ujjain, made 'Ramcharitmanas' an optional subject and implemented a sapling planting requirement for students.
