Amit Shah lists 'Nehruvian blunders' in Parliament; Rahul Gandhi hits back

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 12 December 2023
Amit Shah blames Jawaharlal Nehru for blunders in Jammu and Kashmir, including declaring an untimely ceasefire and taking the issue to the United Nations. He alleges that Nehru's decision to declare a ceasefire without securing the entirety of Kashmir led to the creation of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), causing suffering for the people. Shah also claims that Nehru delayed the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India, allowing Pakistan to occupy a portion of the state. Furthermore, he accuses Nehru of denying the rights of Scheduled Tribes and poor people of Kashmir by not implementing certain laws. Lastly, Shah asserts that Nehru's policies weakened India's national security and led to the 1962 war with China.
