India seeks extradition of 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed
India formally requests Pakistan to extradite Hafiz Saeed, the chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba and mastermind of the Mumbai attacks. Saeed is wanted in multiple cases in India and is a UN-proscribed terrorist. India has sent a formal request to Pakistan, along with supporting documents, to extradite Saeed for trial. Despite lacking an extradition treaty with Pakistan, India has previously sought assistance in the investigation of the Mumbai terror attacks, including against Saeed.
