The Lok Sabha passed legislations to extend women's reservation to the assemblies of Jammu and Kashmir and Puducherry. The opposition used the debate as an opportunity to demand early statehood and elections in J&K. Home Minister Amit Shah questioned a TMC MP's remark calling Ayodhya, Article 370 repeal, and Uniform Civil Code as "communal". Shah defended the UCC, stating that it was included in the Directive Principles by the Constituent Assembly. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury asked for a timeline to reclaim PoK and Aksai Chin before the Lok Sabha polls.
