Like Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, is parole given to other inmates too, asks HC

The Punjab and Haryana HC has asked the Haryana government to explain if parole or furlough benefits are granted to other jail inmates similar to the Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim. The HC directed the government to provide a status report on decisions regarding parole or furlough pleas of inmates in state jails. The SGPC had filed a plea stating that Ram Rahim was granted temporary release without mentioning his conviction in two murder cases. Ram Rahim has previously been released for a total of 70 days.
