SC agrees to hear plea of Indian arrested in Prague in Sikh separatist Pannun's assassination plot
The Supreme Court of India is examining a plea filed by Nikhil Gupta's family, who was arrested in the Czech Republic for allegedly conspiring to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. The court acknowledged the sensitivity of the matter but questioned its jurisdiction in a foreign criminal proceeding. Gupta claims to be a law-abiding Indian citizen and a victim of a frame-up. He alleges irregularities in his arrest, including the denial of consular access and forced consumption of beef and pork, which violated his religious beliefs.
