The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongly criticized the Karnataka government for the incident in Belagavi, where a Dalit woman was publicly humiliated. Party president J P Nadda denounced the incident as "shameful" and asserted that such "heinous crimes" have witnessed an uptick in Karnataka since the Congress assumed power in the state. Expressing concern over the incident, Nadda took decisive action by forming a five-member fact-finding committee comprising the party's women MPs. This committee is tasked with visiting the village in Karnataka to investigate the matter.
