No alliance with BSP until Mayawati distances herself from BJP, says SP neta Shivpal Yadav
Sunday, 17 December 2023 Ahead of INDIA bloc's crucial meeting in Delhi, senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Yadav and uncle of party chief Akhilesh Yadav said "there can be no alliance with BSP until its leader (Mayawati) distances herself from Bhartiya Janata Party". Yadav was in Muzaffarnagar and Deoband on Sunday to hold party meetings with workers. On Congress's recent assembly polls' drubbing in the Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav advocated for a caste census in his Lok Sabha speech, expressing opposition to the Agniveer scheme. He asserted that if the INDIA alliance comes to power, they would abolish the scheme. Yadav also highlighted the need for a legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) on crops, emphasising the inclusion of horticulture crops under this policy.
