Nine dead in Nagpur explosives factory blast

Nine people were killed and three others seriously injured in a blast at an explosives manufacturing factory in Chakdoh, Nagpur. Angry locals and relatives of workers blocked the Amravati-Nagpur highway, demanding access to the premises to see the bodies. The state government will provide compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the kin of the dead, while the company will provide Rs 20 lakh each. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.

The impact was so severe that the Ertiga was flung into the air, landing on the highway's barricade, with passengers thrown onto the road. Emergency services responded swiftly, and the injured have been transported to the district hospital for treatment.
