LG's claim in Bengal sparks a political row

IndiaTimes Friday, 22 December 2023
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated in Kolkata on Friday that the security situation in J&K was "better than" that of Bengal. However, he swiftly corrected his statement, emphasizing that his remarks should not be politically misconstrued. He clarified that he intended to convey that the security situation in Kashmir is on par with that of Bengal. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) responded strongly, with leader Kunal Ghosh urging Sinha to "maintain the dignity of his chair" instead of making what he deemed as "distorted claims."
