Friday, 29 December 2023 Rajya Sabha Chairman declines Arvind Kejriwal's request to appoint Raghav Chadha as interim party leader in Rajya Sabha. AAP sources say corrections will be addressed. Chairman cites the 'Leaders and Chief Whips of Recognised Parties and Groups in Parliament (Facilities) Act, 1998' and rules made thereunder. Act does not have provision for 'interim leader'. Kejriwal had proposed Chadha as interim leader until further changes are deemed necessary.
